There are more than 250 statues and sculptures in the city centre of Dublin. Most locals pass them by without a thought while visitors will review and photograph them without knowing the full story behind the work. On this tour you will learn the history of the city through its public art.
The tour will take you to the most interesting statues and sculptures and you will hear the stories the Vikings, the Anglo-Normans and our writers such as Oscar Wilde, James Joyce and W. B. Yeats. You will see the statues that mark the major events in our history such as the 1798 Rebellion, the Great Famine and the 1916 Rebellion.
